Founder Gives Keynote Presentation and Masterclass at Prestigious Space Technology Conference in Pakistan

Mike Simmons, Founder of Astronomy for Equity, gave an invited keynote address at the International Conference on Applications of Space Science and Technology (ICAST), held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The conference drew experts from academia, industry, and government around the world to showcase groundbreaking research, discuss space policy, and explore the role of space science in solving global challenges.

Mike gave a keynote presentation in the plenary session, “Space for Humanity: Integrating Science, Technology, Law, and Education,” exploring how we can improve lives through space exploration and astronomy. The session covered interdisciplinary approaches in space science and technology.

Mike also presented a masterclass, Reaching Diverse Audiences in Space & Astronomy Education and Outreach, discussing the importance of inclusive public engagement in space and astronomy. He explored a variety of outreach initiatives and practical strategies for inclusive engagement. His interactive class taught participants how to build meaningful connections through space and astronomy outreach.
