Bright Futures Program Distributes First Lessons to Schools in Twelve Countries

The first lessons Astronomy for Equity’s (A4E) Bright Futures program have been sent to organizations in 12 countries taking part in the first phase of this groundbreaking program. The curriculum was developed to provide children with hands-on lessons exploring the Sun and its relationship with the Earth that can then be extended to any STEM field.

The lessons are designed to introduce students to STEM education starting with observations of the Sun and sunlight. The organizations previously received new, unused solar glasses to observe the Sun. The lessons provide a way for teachers in resource-scarce areas to give students a hands-on science experience. Learning about the Sun and sunlight, a resource accessible to everyone, leads to other fields in STEM.
