Astronomy Clubs in Middle Schools in Libya
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead
With the help of generous donors, Astronomy for Equity provides telescopes to astronomy clubs in middle schools in Libya, helping students who want to study science using the most accessible field of all, astronomy. A national astronomy organization in Libya, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, has begun forming school astronomy clubs in five cities across the country. After years of civil war, science resources in Libya are badly needed. Students, teachers, amateur astronomers, and government officials are joining A4E to bring this inspiring program to the young people of Libya.
I love seeing these kids joyful about astronomy and STEM. What a great mission!
