Solar eclipses are among the most captivating planetary phenomena but you must protect your eyes from the Sun’s light during the partial phases of the eclipse. These eclipse glasses protect your eyes from 100% of harmful ultraviolet and infrared rays while removing 99.999% of the intense visible light of the Sun, allowing you to view the eclipse in safety and comfort. These eclipse glasses provide a pleasant, sharp, orange-colored image.
But don’t forget to take them off during the total phase of a total eclipse! You MUST keep the glasses on during all parts of an annular eclipse since the Sun is never completely covered by the Moon.
The lenses of these eclipse glasses are CE certified and meet transition requirements of scale for 12-16 of EN 169/1992, 2012 transition requirements of scale for EN 1836:2005 and AS/NZS 1338.1:1992, and the ISO 12312-2:2015 standard from the Queensland Directive. Astronomy for Equity is approved and recommended as a source of safe solar glasses by the American Astronomical Society.
